Doll on Doll is the fifth episode in the second season of Chucky.
Synopsis[]
Devon worries that Good Chucky can't be trusted; Tiffany spirals from the surprise party.
Plot[]
In Father Bryce's office, Buff Chucky displays a series of knives to Good Chucky and explains how each knife is meant for a specific kill. Incensed at this revelation, Good Chucky defends the trio. On the other side of the door, Devon and Jake eavesdrop on the conversation and begin pounding on the door. Buff Chucky whirls around and throws two knives, which nearly hit Jake. Seizing his opportunity, Good Chucky leaps forward, but Buff Chucky deflects him. The two get into a fistfight as Jake and Devon try to breach the office. Buff Chucky beats Good Chucky until prone. Standing over him, he prepares to deliver a killing blow, but Good Chucky kicks Buff Chucky in the crotch, sending him flying backwards. Good Chucky scrambles onto the desk and grabs Buff Chucky's knives. He throws the knives into the Buff Chucky's hands, crucifying him to the wall. He throws a final knife into Buff Chucky's chest, seemingly killing him. Good Chucky vomits, opens the door and collapses into Jake's arms. Devon continues to doubt Good Chucky's sincerity, instead arguing that the only good Chucky is a dead Chucky, and that any Chucky left to live will kill, as evidenced by Good Chucky's homicide of Buff Chucky. Annoyed, Jake picks up Good Chucky and leaves. Alone, Devon picks up the knife and confronts the Buff Chucky's corpse. Just as he's about to double-tap him, Father Bryce walks into the room. He sees the crucified Buff Chucky and is angered by the apparent blasphemy. Meanwhile, in their room, Nadine and Lexy continue to freshen the air and clean the bloodstains left by Trevor's decomposing corpse. The weight of everything continues to crash upon Lexy, and she excuses herself to the bathroom to be alone. Nadine follows, and commiserates with Lexy, revealing her that her mother overdosed when she was in the fourth grade. Lexy opens the stall door and runs into Nadine's embrace. The two comfort each other, and Lexy flushes the pills down the toilet.
Glen awakens from a recurring nightmare: the murder of Jennifer Tilly's assistant, Joan. Glen texts their sibling and learns that Glenda had the same dream, and that they killed Jeeves. In the living room, Tiffany drunkenly watches Liar Liar while chain-smoking cigarettes. Glen confronts Tiffany about Tiffany's murders. Tiffany calls it an addiction and asks for sympathy, before turning it around on Glen, accusing them of betrayal. Glen ignores the comment and asks Tiffany who Nica and Tiffany Valentine are. Tiffany tells Glen that Nica is her girlfriend and sometimes their father, but refuses to reveal her identity as Tiffany until she learns Nica's location. When Glen is silent, Tiffany leaves.
Back at Incarnate Lord, Lexy and Nadine leave the bathroom and enter their room, when they notice the closet door ajar. Nadine hands Lexy a paddle and they approach the wardrobe, only to find it empty; Trevor's body is gone. In his dorm, Jake thanks Good Chucky, but is alarmed when Good Chucky says he thinks his purpose is killing. Lexy and Nadine enter, and inform Jake that Trevor is gone. Jake thinks it might be an ally cleaning for them. Chucky suggests it could be an enemy. Concurrently, Father Bryce sits down with Devon in the chapel, accusing the trio of being liars. Devon sarcastically confirms this assertion. Father Bryce leaves Devon to read Leviticus. Father Bryce brings Dr. Mixter, Sister Catherine and Sister Ruth in, and chastises all three of them, accusing them of being weak-willed. Any time Sister Catherine encourages compassion and mercy, she is shut down by Father Bryce and Sister Ruth. Sister Catherine snaps at all of them, and storms off, head held high. Though Father Bryce recommends sending Devon elsewhere, Dr. Mixter convinces him to give it one more shot. He orders Sister Ruth to remove and dispose of the Buff Chucky's body, which she does. Eventually, Devon comes to Leviticus 18:22, at which point he begins to tear out page after page from the Bible. Though momentarily frightened by what Father Bryce will think when he sees the destroyed Bible, he squashes his fears and throws the Bible at the crucifix.
At Jennifer Tilly's house, Meg tries to reminisce with her sister, but Tiffany can barely keep the façade, having no memories of Tilly's previous life. She goes upstairs and throws bills into a birdcage containing the real Jennifer Tilly, with her soul trapped in Tiffany's doll body, the one from the set of Chucky Goes Psycho. Tiffany discovers that Jennifer wrote multiple S.O.S. notes on the backs of checks. She demands that Jennifer rewrite the checks. Jennifer begs for food, revealing that she continues her voiceover work for Family Guy and makes money for Tiffany through online poker. Tiffany dismisses all this and asks her for personal information so she can continue playing the part of Jennifer Tilly to Meg.
Devon returns to the dorm and learns that Trevor's body was missing. They think that another bad Chucky cleaned up after Buff Chucky and decide to research the phone Good Chucky was using before he was brainwashed. Devon accuses Good Chucky of being responsible for the deaths of his mother and Jake's entire family, and snarls at Jake that he doesn't care. Good Chucky, now confused about his identity, excuses himself. Jake follows, and explains that Chucky used to be known as Charles Lee Ray, and that Charles' split soul is the reason Chucky is alive. Chucky, thinking there may be some evil buried deep down inside him, tries to exile himself to prevent anyone else from dying, but Jake refuses to let him. In the dorm, Lexy and Devon discuss his relationship woes, Jake's intense refusal to recognize the danger of any Chucky, even a "good one", and all the trauma of the year before and aftermath. They discover pictures of a trail of dismembered Chucky parts outside Incarnate Lord, leading to the school. In the chapel, Nadine and Jake lead a baptism for Chucky, becoming godmother and godfather, respectively. They pour holy water over Chucky, absolving him of previous sins, and turning him Christian. Lexy and Devon witness the end of this, and leave off on their own. At night in her office, Sister Ruth grades papers. The trash bin holding the crucified Chucky rattles and falls over, Buff Chucky having resurrected himself like Christ, showing no sign of injury. Sister Ruth falls to her knees, and begs Buff Chucky for guidance.
In Beverly Hills, Tiffany comes downstairs and begins to repeat what Jennifer told her, inadvertently reciting the plot of The Blues Brothers to Meg. Angered at the ruse, she storms upstairs, but is followed by Glen and Meg, inadvertently revealing that she is not Jennifer Tilly, but in fact, Tiffany Valentine. Jennifer's heart soars at seeing her sister and begs for help, but as Meg goes to free her sister, Tiffany slashes Meg's throat and face with her nail file, stabbing her for good measure. She finally tells Glen the truth, revealing that she is Tiffany Valentine, their mother. Jennifer wails, mourning her sister, spitting threat after threat. Tiffany assures Glen that she never meant to hurt them, despite lying to them for their whole lives. She says that she pretended to be Jennifer Tilly because Tilly is a "famous movie star" and that Tiffany was "a loser". She gets up and brings a wooden box over to Glen. They open it and see the Glen doll, and recognize it as the body they used to inhabit with Glenda. Glen resolves to show the doll to Glenda, and Tiffany follows. Tiffany pours lighter fluid all over the mansion and sets in ablaze, driving off with Glen, Jennifer, and the Glen doll in the backseat.
In the woods, Lexy and Devon come across a Good Guy graveyard, with multiple Chucky heads on pikes. They approach a cabin and look through the window. Inside are the corpses of Trevor and Father O'Malley, and a barely conscious Andy Barclay, who now has both long hair and a long beard, tied at the hands and feet. Dr. Mixter enters the room and addresses the Colonel, the bald Chucky from Halloween II, as he carves up Andy's skin.
