- "Amazing, isn't it?"
- ―Chucky to Grace right before killing her.
Grace Poole is a social worker and the head of the Midtown Children's Crisis Center, where Andy is sent after Karen is forced to go under psychiatric observation.
Child's Play 2 (1990)[]
Grace hopes to find a family to foster Andy, and help him recover from his trauma until he could be reunited with his mother. She reaches out to Joanne and Phil Simpson to take in Andy, as they have done very well with other foster children. Grace explains to them Andy's past, how he was traumatized by the murders he witnessed, and tells them that she believes that Andy needs a normal family environment to help give him a fresh start.
Joanne seems eager, but Phil is cautious and asks how it has affected Andy. Grace explains that to come to terms with things he could not understand, he turned it all into a sort of "fairy tale". Andy insisted that his Good Guy doll had been possessed by the soul of Charles Lee Ray, the Lakeshore Strangler. Phil remains skeptical, but Grace assures him that he built it up as a coping device, and that Andy just wants to move on and live his life again.
Later that night, Grace is making photocopies while trying to get another foster child named Sammy to go to sleep. Suddenly, she gets a mysterious phone call from Chucky, claiming to be his "Uncle Charles". She reveals to him that Andy is no longer at the Children's Crisis Centre, and he has been placed with the Simpsons.
Death[]
After Phil's sudden death, Joanne break downs and decides to send Andy back to the Children's Crisis Centre. Grace brings him back to the Centre, reassuring him that things will work out and she will find him a new family in a few days. She tucks him into bed, but later that night the fire alarm is pulled. As everyone is evacuated, Grace and Andy stop in the staircase and see Kyle holding Chucky. When Grace asks if Kyle pulled the alarm, she quietly says Chucky did it.
Believing this is a joke, Grace angrily pulls Andy and Kyle into her office. When Grace takes the doll from her, she is shocked as Chucky suddenly comes alive and raises his knife to her. He stabs her three times in the chest, causing her to fall against the photocopier that makes multiple copies of her face as she dies. Her body is then discovered by the fire department as they arrived from the fire alarm being pulled earlier.
