- "Those other kids at school, they just don't get it, you know. It's weird, but I kind of envy them, in a way. But Lexy, meeting you, it's really been a relief for me."
- ―Grant to Lexy.
Grant Collins is the eldest son of the President of the United States.
Chucky: Season 3 (2023)[]
After the death of his younger brother Joseph, he and his family mourn at Joseph's grave. His brother Henry happens to find a Good Guy doll named "Joseph" tucked behind the gravestone, and is allowed to bring it back to the White House. One night, there is a power outage in the White House. Grant's Secret Service agent Hicks catches him smoking pot in his room, and scolds him before leading him to the elevator to the underground bunker. As they begin their descent, the power suddenly shuts off in the elevator's back-up generator. However, it quickly turns back on again, as does the power to the rest of the White House. The Secret Service halt the escort, and allow the family back to their beds.
The next morning at breakfast, Charlotte argues with Grant over his use of Tik Tok and posting about their family. He retorts that as his father James ran on a platform of complete transparency and sold out his family's privacy to win the election, him posting about her taste in drapes isn't that bad. He and Henry then head out to school, and on the drive back Henry tells the Secret Service agents that he's too scared to go back into the White House. Grant tells his brother to cut it out, as he's freaking out their parents.
After the apparent suicide of Henry's Secret Service agent Teddy, Grant is informed by Hicks that Henry will be staying in his room as his younger brother's room is cordoned off as a crime scene. While Hicks checks up on how Grant is handling the recent events, he also warns him about smoking pot in the White House as it could get him fired if Grant gets caught. The following morning, the family attends Teddy's funeral, and have an uneventful rest of the day. At night, Grant sees that Henry is having trouble falling asleep. He asks if he is thinking about Teddy, to which Henry questions if Grant will die too. Attempting to calm his brother's nerves, Grant explains that although it is never easy to lose people like Teddy or his brother Joseph, he will always have the memories of them. However, Henry claims that he doesn't miss his brother Joseph as "Joseph is here", referring to his doll. Henry gives Grant "Joseph" to hug. As Grant begins to tell him that the doll isn't really his dead brother, he decides to leave it for now and gives "Joseph" a hug.
In the morning at breakfast, Grant tries to talk to his parents about Henry's obsession with "Joseph", but is brushed off as they leave for a meeting in the Oval Office. Later in the day, Grant films a video showing off the cafeteria at his school, but quickly stops when another student gives him the middle finger and calls him a loser. Sitting down at a table, Grant watches a Tik Tok directed to him by Lexy, requesting his help in locating her missing sister Caroline. He decides to text her, and Lexy asks to meet him in person with her friends. He agrees to meet her at Balzac's Coffee Shop the next day.
The Coffee Shop is cleared out as Grant waits for Lexy and her friends, running over and hugging her when he finally comes. They engage in small talk over smoothies, and Grant chastises Devon and Jake for not following his Tik Tok account. As he takes a selfie with Lexy, Devon and Jake leave to go to the bathroom so Lexy can be alone with him. Grant reassures her that he will do what he can to help her find her sister, which Lexy thanks him for. They briefly flirt with each other as Lexy asks to see him again, so he invites her and her friends to the upcoming Halloween Gala at the White House.
Back at the White House, Charlotte is upset with Grant's decision to invite Jake, Devon and Lexy to their Halloween Gala , and forbids him from seeing them due to their pasts. When she claims she is uncomfortable about them coming, Grant retorts that she isn't concerned about security but rather the optics of her son hanging out with the troubled orphans. Changing the subject, Charlotte suggests he invite the mayor's son Alex to the party, but Grant refuses. He explains that nobody at his school has ever had anything traumatic happen to them, but that he actually has something in common with his new friends. After thinking it over, Charlotte tells him that she will meet with their foster mother to see if they can handle the expectations and protocols of being at the White House. Happy at this news, Grant hugs his mother, and mentions to her that "normal kids just get to have friends" before leaving the room.
On the night of the Halloween Gala, Grant dresses as a dark angel and heads down to meet his new friends as they arrive. Lexy convinces him to take them up to the Executive Residence, so the two can be alone in his bedroom. Turning on music, he dances around the room with her and tries getting her to jump on the bed with him. Instead, she decides to switch the song to Don't Fear the Reaper, which reminds her of her father. When Lexy asks him about his father, he reveals that he has no idea what James' interests are, other than his love of politics. They are able to bond over the loss of their younger siblings, as his brother Joseph died the previous winter, and her sister Caroline has been missing since last Christmas. He confides in her how nobody else at his school understands what he has gone through, but getting to meet Lexy has been a relief for him. As he starts to cry, he quickly tries to brush these feelings away by getting up to grab Jake and Devon. Instead, she pulls him onto the bed and they share a kiss. Suddenly, Lexy leaves when Jake and Devon grab her to head back downstairs. He runs after them, confused as to why she suddenly decided to end the quiet moment they were sharing. She tries reassuring him that she just needs to find his brother Henry and his doll, which only confounds him further. Just then, Henry approaches them with Chucky in his arms. As Devon pulls out his phone and Jake begins interrogating Henry's doll, Grant finally comes to a realization. He disappointingly tells Lexy that he knows she was only using him to get inside the White House, and forcefully turns off Devon's phone just as the power abruptly goes out. Grant the rest of his family are escorted out to safety, although they witness the large chandelier in the ballroom fall down and kill 10 partygoers.
The next day, James catches up to Grant and Henry before they leave for school. He asks how things are going between him and Lexy. He informs his father that their relationship is over, as she does not care about him and is more interested in where he lives and that his dad is the president. Later that night, he receives multiple texts from Lexy, apologizing for leading him on about her intentions. Charlotte enters his room, and explains that sometimes apologies aren't enough as relationships require trust and Lexy broke that. The right person will be able to see and appreciate him for who he really is, other than being the President's son.
When walking with Hicks to school, they spot Lexy waving at him. Although he is still reluctant, Hicks recommends he take initiative, to stop just looking at her texts and actually talk to her. Hesitantly he walks over to Lexy, and they sit and talk on the stairs. She details how she can relate to him being the child of a politician, losing a family member, and that she sees him as more than just the President's son. He divulges that she is the first person he's ever really liked, and they agree to start their relationship over. Before Lexy can warn him about Chucky, Hicks pulls Grant away to go to class. They share a kiss before he leaves, and decide to get together during the weekend for a movie night.
During the middle of the night, he and Henry are suddenly woken up by Charlotte, who is insisting they are going on an impromptu vacation to visit their aunt in Chicago as she frantically packs their clothing. However, she is quickly pulled away by Pryce, and the boys are told to go back to sleep. In the morning, Grant questions why his father isn't joining them for breakfast and what his mother was doing in his room last night. She brushes him off, simply stating she overreacted to a nightmare, and is then called away to speak with Pryce.
Jake, Devon and Lexy arrive at the White House for their dinner and a movie date with Grant. Walking through the Executive Residence, Lexy stops at a piano and requests Grant play her something. He plays Don't Fear the Reaper for her, and they sing a duet. Before he can lean in for a kiss, they are interrupted by Charlotte. He asks if his father is home yet, but she suggests he's probably working late and sends them on their way as she orders dinner from the kitchen. As they are eating, Grant again asks when James is coming home. She tells him that he isn't feeling very well, to which he begins questioning if he is sick or if he is working late. Strangely upset by this line of questioning, Charlotte gets up and leaves them alone the dining room. Lexy decides to use this opportunity to explain to him about Chucky, apologizing for using him and asking for his help to find the doll before he kills again. They enter the elevator to go down to the Situation Room. Grant is startled by the elevator operator's corpse inside as well as blood written on the door claiming "Chucky did it", but he is still hesitant to believe. The door to the Situation Room is locked, but Henry lets them in. Grant shields his brother as Coop arrives and shoots Chucky dead, although the doll still manages to launch one nuclear missile to the North Pole. Charlotte, following right behind Coop, hugs both her sons as Henry questions who Randall is, realizing that man is not their father.
Under Pryce's orders, Grant is locked inside his room along with Jake, Devon and Lexy. While he tries to come to terms with the death of his father, Hicks enters to take Grant to Charlotte's room. As she promises to tell him everything she was keeping secret, Hicks and Coop arrive to escort them out of the White House. There is a getaway car waiting at the front entrance, but Grant refuses to leave without his friends. Charlotte cannot stop him from staying behind, and Hicks reassures her that he will keep him safe. The two walk back into the White House, and Hicks headbutts the CIA agent guarding his bedroom door so Grant can rescue Jake, Devon and Lexy. However, they are immediately found by Pryce, who requests their help. The five of them are taken to the Oval Office, where they are introduced to Dr. Carol Lindstrom and her associate Timmy. She explains to them that the White House is haunted by the ghosts of those who died in the building, including that of Charles Lee Ray. And in order persuade Charles' ghost to move on and find peace, they must have a séance. Grant aids in the séance, but it is unsuccessful as Charles' ghost murders Carol, Melanie and Spence. Afterwards, the teenagers discuss going after Chucky in the Spirit Realm, which they can only do by dying. Jake volunteers to be temporarily put under cardiac arrest with a drug provided by Pryce, but he only has five minutes before they must revive him.
When the time is up, Devon brings Jake back from the Spirit Realm just as bombs detonate and explode throughout the White House. Running out of the Executive Residence, Grant tells the others to escape from the building while he goes looking for Hicks. He finds his Secret Service agent near-death in the Oval Office, and he gives Grant the White House skeleton key before dying. Pryce then enters the room, remarking that he intends for the First Son to die here. After a brief scuffle, Grant breaks a chair over Pryce's back, knocking him to the ground. He then locks Pryce inside the Oval Office with the skeleton key, leaving the CIA agent to burn alive from the surrounding explosions. After running out of the building, he sees the ghosts of James and Joseph watching him from the White House's window. He is then reunited with Charlotte, who returned with Coop to search for him.
