- ―Gretchen questioning Teddy's "suicide".
Gretchen is a White House Correspondent, reporting on President James Collins.
Chucky: Season 3 (2023)[]
The day after a power outage occurred in the White House, the press secretary Melanie holds a press conference to inform the reporters of the situation. While Melanie claims the outage was simply a mechanical malfunction, Gretchen questions if Homeland Security has ruled out the possibility of the outage being caused by criminals, terrorists, or espionage. Melanie reveals they don't yet know the cause of the outage, but claims it is not serious. Gretchen retorts that it was serious enough to move the President's family to the underground bunker, as evidenced by the President's son Grant posting on TikTok. Melanie clarifies they were just following a protocol, but Gretchen presses further asking if this incident could point to further concerns in security. Instead of directly answering, Melanie brings up the President's election promise of complete transparency, which frustrates Gretchen.
The following evening, another press conference is held after a Secret Service agent named Teddy is found dead from an apparent suicide. Gretchen questions if the President will still uphold his promise to be completely honest after this tragedy. Melanie again does not answer the question directly, irritating Gretchen again. Instead of saying something else, she happens to look over to her left and spots Vice President Spence, and eyes him suspiciously.
During Teddy's funeral service, Gretchen meets with a private investigator to go through Teddy's bank statements. He reveals to her that Teddy's bank statements had no red flags of suspicious activity, but a couple days before his "suicide", he put a down payment on a cruise line for a trip to Alaska with his wife. This leads Gretchen to question if this was truly a suicide.
Death[]
Gretchen sneaks into the White House's Halloween Gala, although she is spotted by Spence and Melanie. She questions them on why notable CIA agent Pryce is in attendance, but Spence simply replies that he is just a guest. Later in the night, the power to the White House suddenly goes out. Amidst the commotion, Gretchen phones someone at her news station to hold the 10:00 PM slot for her. Just as she gets off the phone, the power comes back on. She begins hearing a jingling sound, and looks up to see the large chandelier falling down from the ceiling. It lands directly on her, bisecting her and crushing nine other party guests. With her remaining strength, Gretchen takes a photo of herself before she dies.
