He is Risen Indeed is the sixth episode in the second season of Chucky.
Synopsis[]
Incarnate Lord goes on lockdown with the Chucky dolls inside; Nica moves forward with her plan.
Plot[]
In the cabin, the Colonel continues to mutilate Andy, carving deeper into his shin. The Colonel and Dr. Mixter discuss what to do about Chucky Prime, who has spent the past few years trapped in Nica's body. Dr. Mixter pleads with the Colonel to kill the trio on his behalf, but he denies her request. Instead, he says that he is the ultimate incarnation of Chucky, and that all previous versions of himself were too weak to live. Dr. Mixter and the Colonel head off for the school, leaving Andy's kill for last. As they leave, Lexy and Devon sneak into the cabin. As they go to untie Andy, he swipes at them, monetarily unable to recognize them. Andy inquires about Kyle, and Devon incorrectly confirms that she died in the explosion at Charles Lee Ray's house. Incensed, Andy demands to be taken up to the school to confront Chucky.
In her office, Sister Ruth serves Buff Chucky communion wafers and washes his feet. As she reaffirms her service to Buff Chucky, the Colonel and Dr. Mixter arrive. They resolve to add Buff Chucky to the kill list and discuss the plan to make the trio's deaths look like suicides or accidents. Later, in the chapel, Nadine and Jake discuss the whereabouts of Lexy and Devon. During the homily, Father Bryce stresses the importance of following the rules of the school but does not single Devon and Lexy out by name. He immediately orders a lockdown and orders everyone back to their dormitories until further notice. In the hallway, Jake is accosted by a student named Delgato who refuses to believe that Trevor up and left, but is saved by Dr. Mixter, carrying the Colonel. Jake is about to confront Dr. Mixter, flat-out accusing her of being in league with Chucky, when Father Bryce intervenes and demands Jake continue back to his dorm. In private, though Father Bryce tries to express his reservations about having the trio at the school, Dr. Mixter calms his fears. Father Bryce heads upstairs and locks everyone in their dormitories. Sister Catherine objects to the draconian way Father Bryce is handling the situation, even questioning if it is legal. Before the argument can get into a full screaming match, Devon and Lexy enter and immediately encounter Father Bryce. When Father Bryce questions where they were and who their guest is, they play Andy off as a bum they found and wanted to help, citing the Christian act of charity as taught to them by Sister Catherine. Though Father Bryce would like to help Andy, he also considers that the school is on lockdown. Sister Catherine takes Andy to get cleaned up and Devon and Lexy head upstairs back to their dorms. Before they can head upstairs, they are confronted by Dr. Mixter, who, without pretense, says that the only reason she hasn't had them thrown out is that Chucky wants them there. They storm upstairs as Dr. Mixter continues to taunt them.
At a motel, Glenda awakens from a nightmare: the same one, over and over again about killing Joan. They text Glen, who sends them a picture of the Glen doll Tiffany gave the two. A moment of recognition washes over Glenda, and they leave into the other room. Kyle and Nica sit at a coffee table, Kyle with a small handgun for protection. They talk about what's supposed to happen at Incarnate Lord, and Nica says that there's someone there who can get the souls back to their appropriate bodies, but Kyle is unsure of the truth. She reveals that she originally came to Los Angeles to look for Andy, thinking that Tiffany had kidnapped him, and apologetically asks Nica if she can talk to Chucky. Nica obliges, so Kyle slices her palm, and as Chucky emerges Kyle holds him at gunpoint. She asks about Andy, and Chucky lies, saying he killed him. Kyle doesn't believe him, and Chucky orders Glenda to kill Kyle. Glenda refuses, since Kyle has the gun. Chucky immediately knocks the gun out of Kyle's hands and Glenda picks it up. Rather than kill Kyle, though, they focus the gun back to Chucky and ask Kyle to bring Nica back. Kyle does, but not before Chucky insinuates that Glenda has lost their nerve. On the news, an anchor reveals that authorities discovered the bodies of Joe Pantaliano and Meg Tilly, and are currently searching for Jennifer Tilly and her children.
As an annoying fly buzzes about, Jake and Devon are restless in the dormitory, going over everything that's happened, and the new problem of Dr. Mixter's influence over their movements. Jake suggests a plan to have Chucky come to them, but Devon is not persuaded. Jake clarifies that he means not just Jake and Devon in the room, but Lexy, Nadine, and Good Chucky as well. Though Devon is still reluctant to trust another Chucky, he does admit that it was helpful have Good Chucky crucify Buff Chucky. As they comfort each other, Good Chucky throws a knife at the fly, perfectly skewering it to the wall. Devon notes that Good Chucky did not throw up at this act of violence. Meanwhile, in the infirmary, Sister Catherine tends to Andy's wounds while the Colonel watches from behind a wall. After she leaves, Andy grabs a pair of scissors from off the medical cart and tilts his head toward where the Chucky was standing. Elsewhere, Sister Ruth enters the Headmaster's chambers. Sister Ruth shows the resurrected Buff Chucky to a flabbergasted Father Bryce, who quickly admonishes Sister Ruth for not disposing of the Chucky. She assures him that she did, but that Buff Chucky came back from the dead. Father Bryce is insulted and orders her to her room as per the lockdown. Sister Ruth momentarily snaps at Father Bryce, but when Father Bryce repeats the order, she responds with a curt "yes", collects Chucky, and leaves. In the library, Buff Chucky and the Colonel confront each other, Buff Chucky trying to usurp the Colonel's position. Before a fight can begin, Buff Chucky succumbs to the effects of the arsenic poisoned communion wafers that the Colonel had slipped him.
Later in the night, Nadine and Lexy climb into Jake and Devon's dormitory. They tell Nadine and Lexy what they learned from Andy: the Colonel killed all the other Chuckies that survived the van crash, and it's now just him and Good Chucky that remain. Lexy immediately moves to barricade the door with a bench, but Jake holds the bench back. They go back and forth on the best course of action, and Lexy acquiesces to Jake's plan. Nadine unpacks the weapons she brought, which include an awl and some brass knuckles. They each grab a weapon. Good Chucky tries to comfort Lexy by offering her a bottle of pills, which she takes. Outside the dorm, something metal scrapes against the floor. The door opens. It's the Colonel, with a machete. He quotes Patrick Henry and a few other historical figures and movies, before collapsing, having been stabbed through the back of the skull. He dies, repeating "the horror" over and over again as he recalls the Vietnam War. Andy steps into the door and quips that Chucky, "...should have cut [his leg] deeper". Andy is taken aback at the idea of a Good Chucky and that the doll seems to recognize him. Downstairs, Sister Ruth is distraught at the discovery of Buff Chucky's body, as she believes Buff Chucky to be Jesus reborn. She vows to avenge Buff Chucky, and kisses his feet, sobbing. Dr. Mixter watches and calls the Chucky in Nica's body, urging him to arrive as soon as he can, since there is only one doll left. As she does so, Glenda, Nica and Kyle cross state lines into New Jersey.
Andy steps into the room, picks up the Colonel's machete and moves to kill Good Chucky, but is stopped by Jake, who pleads with him to spare Good Chucky's life. However, Andy is on the warpath, he shoves Jake aside and snatches Good Chucky by the hair. As he's about to deliver the killing blow, Dr Mixter steps into the room, holding them all at gunpoint. She takes Good Chucky and locks them inside. She reveals to Good Chucky that when she was the therapist of "Charlie Ray", she saw a "streak of goodness" that she intentionally tried to stamp out because it was "boring". She tells Good Chucky that the good soul fragment in him must be discarded to make way for the Chucky fragment inside Nica. When Good Chucky asks where his soul fragment would go, she responds that she doesn't know. Before they can go downstairs, they encounter Father Bryce and Sister Catherine. She plays off Good Chucky's attempts to be rescued as ventriloquism. However, Good Chucky has been squirming for the gun. Needing a distraction, she shoots Sister Catherine in the shoulder and flees. At that moment, Andy, Devon, Jake, Lexy, and Nadine bust down the door. Andy takes a swing at Dr. Mixter, but is deflected. The therapist raises the gun at all of them. Nadine puts up her hands. Father Bryce stares at Dr. Mixter in astonishment. Andy leaps forward, tackling Dr. Mixter and they go tumbling down the stairs. Good Chucky cries out for help and runs further up the stairs. Nadine chases after him, followed by Jake, Devon, and Lexy, who beg with her not to follow, while Andy and Dr. Mixter continue to struggle for the gun. She pistol-whips Andy, knocking him unconscious. Father Bryce asks Sister Catherine what to do, but they are stopped by Dr. Mixter, who threatens both of them with the gun.
Upstairs, Nadine and Good Chucky enter the tower staircase and the door slams shut behind them. The trio call out to Nadine, again begging her to stop, but the door is locked. Nadine and Good Chucky talk at the top of the tower, Good Chucky sitting on the windowsill. He threatens to throw himself off the tower as he still believes he is bad. Nadine pleads with him not to. At the bottom of the tower, Devon breaks the door down and the trio rush upstairs to see Nadine go in for a hug, only for Good Chucky to snatch her and throw her through the tower window. She lands with a loud crack, breaking her spine on the stone arms of a statue of the Virgin Mary. Jake, Devon, and Lexy look on in abject horror as Good Chucky wonders aloud "what [has he] done". As he does so, he shifts out of Chucky's usual gravelly timbre back into Good Chucky's light affect, leaving it unclear if the murder was committed by Good Chucky, or the dormant evil of Charles Lee Ray that Dr. Mixter mentioned.

Trivia[]
- Title Card: The Chucky logo is comprised of bald Chucky heads.
- At the end of the episode, Chucky mentions defenestration is his favourite method of killing. In Child's Play, Chucky's first ever on-screen kill, Maggie, was a defenestration.
- Nadine's death was first foreshadowed in Hail, Mary when Devon says before the brainwashing, "We should kill [Scout Chucky] while we have the chance. Before anyone else gets hurt and, "The only safe Chucky is one that's been killed, cut up into pieces, and burned. Even that's not a sure thing. If you keep him around, someone's gonna end up dead", immediately following the brainwashing. Additionally, when the group brainwashes the Scout, during the interim between tapes, Chucky says, "Aunt Maggie, Chucky wants to watch the 9'o'clock news". Maggie and Nadine both died in the same manner.
