Chucky: Season 3 (2023)[]
After the death of his younger brother Joseph, Henry is very distraught by the loss. While he and his family mourn at Joseph's grave, Henry kneels on the ground picking at the grass until he happens to spot a Good Guy doll tucked behind the gravestone. He smiles as the doll talks to him, calling itself "Joseph". This makes him believe Chucky is his late brother's ghost and his parents allow him to bring it back to the White House.
One night, Henry is scared that ghosts are haunting his room, telling him his whole family is going to die. He hides in his closet, but is coaxed out by his mother Charlotte, who tucks him into bed. Henry believes that he has his Good Guy doll "Joseph" to protect him from the ghosts, and also mentions that Joseph said that sometimes ghosts are hiding in the last place you would ever suspect. Charlotte keeps his lamp on and door open before leaving his room.
Suddenly, there is a power outage in the White House. As Henry is escorted out by his personal Secret Service agent Teddy, he informs him that the ghosts took Joseph. Teddy lets Charlotte take Henry to the elevator while he retrieves the doll. As they begin their descent, the power suddenly shuts off in the elevator's back-up generator. However, it quickly turns back on again, as does the power to the rest of the White House. The Secret Service halt the escort, and allow the family back to their beds.
The next morning at breakfast, Henry reads Ghosts at 1600, a book about ghosts haunting the White House. He reads a passage about Abraham Lincoln's son Willy, who died from Typhoid at the age of 11. This part upsets Charlotte, who excuses herself from the table but takes the book with her. Before Henry goes to school, he tells his father James that his doll Joseph doesn't want to go to school, and instead wants to go to work with him and see the Oval Office.
After school, Teddy walks Henry to the Secret Service car. As they walk, they discuss how Henry isn't looking to make any friends at school and how he sees Teddy as his only real friend. Teddy mentions how Henry reminds him of his son Malcolm, and how they both have big hearts. Before getting into the car, Henry tells Teddy that "Joseph" has a big heart too, one that he can hear beating at night if he listens closely. On the drive back to the White House, Henry tells Teddy that he's scared to go back in. Regardless, he braves the White House doors with Teddy by his side, and enters the Executive Residence to ask James where his doll is. When he learns "Joseph" is in his room, he asks Teddy to do a sweep before he goes in himself. Just as Teddy enters the room. a gunshot is heard leaving what appears to be a suicide. Henry is greatly upset by this, believing that Teddy left him on purpose. His parents try to comfort him, explaining that Teddy was sick and needed help, but Henry simply questions if he's going to haunt him as a ghost. He also asks when he can have "Joseph" back, as he had been left in his room which is cordoned off as a crime scene.
The following morning, Henry is allowed to have "Joseph" back, and takes him to Teddy's funeral. He becomes uneasy at the sound of gunfire from the 21-gun salute. When the family returns to the White House, Henry has to sleep in Grant's room as his own bedroom is still off-limits. As Henry is unable to fall asleep, Grant asks if he is thinking about Teddy, to which Henry reveals that he is worried Grant will die too. Attempting to calm his brother's nerves, Grant explains that although it is never easy to lose people like Teddy or his brother Joseph, he will always have the memories of them. However, Henry claims that he doesn't miss his brother Joseph as "Joseph is here", referring to Chucky.
During breakfast the next morning, Henry tells his father that "Joseph" wants Swedish Meatballs. When his parents suggest pancakes instead, Henry leans over to Chucky's mouth and tells his parents that "Joseph doesn't like fucking pancakes". As his parents are getting ready to leave for a meeting in the Oval Office, Henry leans over to Chucky's mouth again. He tells them that "Joseph" wants to go to the Oval Office again. Although James insists he take the doll with him to school, Henry convinces his father to take the doll one more time by claiming "he wants to be close to you".
On the night of the Halloween Gala, Henry decides not to attend the party for fear of ghosts, as Chucky convinced him that the dead come alive on Halloween. While the rest of his family attend the party, Henry and Chucky are looked after by a nanny named Annie. She indulges Henry in his belief of ghosts, and tells him how she has seen multiple ghosts in the White House. As Henry is shocked to hear this, she comforts him by explaining that ghosts are harmless and nothing to be afraid of. He inquires what they want, and she tells him that they are mostly just bored or want to play. When Henry suggests hide-and-seek, she enthusiastically agrees and allows Henry to run off to find a hiding spot. Although he leaves Chucky behind, he happens to find his doll downstairs at the party. While walking around with Chucky, Henry is confronted by Jake, Devon and Lexy. Before the trio can get any answers, the power suddenly goes off. Henry is escorted away to safety, but he cries out that "Joseph" is missing. He manages to reunite with Chucky when the power comes back on, and takes his doll back to his bedroom. He leaves his room briefly, and comes back after hearing Chucky screaming. Seeing Chucky without his Phantom of the Opera mask on and his face appearing significantly aged, Henry becomes concerned that his "brother" is getting sick again.
The next day, James catches up to Henry and Grant before they leave for school. He asks him where his doll is, to which Henry explains that "Joseph" is resting because he's sick. When James starts asking if his son has ever seen Joseph, not the doll but his brother's ghost, but he is stopped by Charlotte who takes Henry away.
Upon returning home from school, Henry goes to his room to check in on Chucky. Lamenting that he wishes he could make him feel better, Henry goes to retrieve Joseph's old favourite blanket. However, before picking it up he notices blood dripping down onto it. Looking at the walls, he sees blood splatters and a single eyeball, which gives him a vision of his bodyguard Teddy's death. He runs out of the room and to Charlotte, believing that Teddy was trying to tell him something, and asks his mother to talk to the ghost.
In the middle of the night while sleeping in Grant's room, Henry notices that his doll is missing. He walks through the Executive Residence back to his bedroom and finds Chucky inside. He asks what he can do to make him feel better, and is saddened about his "brother" dying again. Chucky explains that everyone dies, but he wishes to be able to leave his mark while he's still alive so people will always remember him. With the prospect of new game to play with Henry, he instructs the boy from this point on to never let him go. Going back to Grant's room, he falls asleep but is suddenly woken up by Charlotte, who insists they are going on an impromptu vacation to visit their aunt in Chicago as she frantically packs their clothing. However, she is quickly pulled away by Pryce, and the boys are told to go back to sleep. In the morning, Henry wheels Chucky out to breakfast with his family, and Grant believes his doll's aged appearance is the result of make-up.
That night, Chucky enacts his plan. While carried by Henry, they go to a room in the Executive Residence where a gun is hidden in a wall safe. From there, they go to his father's body double Randall's room to hold him hostage. Chucky has Randall take the three of them to the Situation Room, killing the two agents blocking their way. Henry stays frozen in his chair while he witnesses Chucky prepare to launch the nuclear missiles, until he hears Grant at the door. He lets Grant and his friends into the room, and his brother shields him as Coop arrives and shoots Chucky dead. Charlotte, following right behind Coop, hugs both her sons as Henry questions who Randall is, realizing that man is not their father.
The next day, Charlotte plans her escape with her sons. She keeps Henry beside her while she waits for Grant to be escorted to her bedroom. As she explains why she kept things from Grant, Henry has a vision of Charles Lee Ray's ghost slowly looming closer to him. Once he's face-to-face with the boy, Henry screams. Luckily, this does not last long as the three of them are escorted out of the White House and into a waiting getaway car. However, Grant refuses to come along as his friends are still trapped inside, so Henry and Charlotte are forced to leave without him.
