"You know, I don't know what you see in that guy anyway."
―Ivers to Kristen.

J. Ivers is a cadet corporal at the Kent Military school, and best friend of Kristen De Silva.

Child's Play 3 (1991)[]

After Andy Barclay arrives at Kent, Kristen becomes interested in him. Later in the night, convinces Ivers to break curfew with her and sneak into Colonel Cochrane's office so she can read his file. Kristen has Ivers stay at the front of the office to keep watch as she looks for the file. Before she can read the entirety of his file, they hear a noise coming from the closet, only to find Tyler hiding inside with Chucky. Laughing, Ivers takes Chucky out of Tyler's hands commenting on how cute it is. Kristen then borrow's Ivers' lipstick to smear it all over Chucky's mouth, much to the dismay of Tyler. Suddenly, they hear Cochrane returning to his room, so they grab Tyler and quickly leave without Chucky.

The next day, Andy sits next to Kristen and Ivers during breakfast mass. When he gets out of his seat to speak with Tyler, someone trips him causing him to land flat on his face. All of the other students, including Ivers, laugh at him. Kristen swats at Ivers to stop her from laughing. After breakfast, the War Games go on as scheduled, with Ivers and Kristen put on the blue team, the same as Andy and Whitehurst. During the night, Andy goes missing so the blue team leaves their base to track him down. Kristen is unknowingly captured by Chucky during this time, who uses her radio to demand Tyler in exchange for Kristen. He also calls in the red team, who arrive at the same time as the blue team. The red team arrives and fires at the blue team, unaware Chucky switched their paintballs with live rounds. Amidst the chaos, Chucky throws an armed grenade at the cadets. Recognizing the danger, Whitehurst leaps on top of the grenade and sacrifices himself to save the others. Ivers cries over his corpse, seemingly devastated and heartbroken by this.
