- " Jade, this is too much for me. I love you, I will always love you, but there is a limit to how much I can take."
- ―Jesse to Jade.
Jesse Miller is the husband of Jade, and dated her against the wishes of her strict uncle Warren. He is also Tiffany's neighbour at his trailer park.
Bride of Chucky (1998)[]
Jade has been seeing Jesse for over a year, which her uncle strongly disapproves. They attempt to hide their relationship by having their friend David act as a decoy, with Jesse hiding in the backseat of his car. However, Warren is not fooled and sends Officer Norton after them, forcing them to do a Breathalyzer until Warren arrives and takes Jade home. With Jade gone, David offers Jesse his own advice: to take Jade, leave town, and never look back.
The next day, Jesse helps his neighbour Tiffany lift a heavy trunk into the back of her car. She flirts with him and attempts to ask him out on a date, but he politely turns her down as he is dating Jade. Before he goes, she gives him the advice to treat her right and never take Jade for granted. Later that night, as Tiffany is now a doll, she and Chucky plot to find a way to get his Damballa amulet so they can become human again. They decide on using Jesse, so Tiffany calls him and offers him $500 to personally deliver two dolls to the Hackensack Cemetery. Realizing he has an opportunity to run away with Jade, he accepts.
After picking up the dolls and the money, he drives over to Jade's house and convinces her to elope with him. But before they can leave Lockport, Norton pulls Jesse's van over and finds a bag of marijuana inside, unknowingly planted there earlier by Warren. As they wait for Norton to file his report, his car suddenly explodes and kills him. Jesse and Jade quickly run back into their van and drive away. The two begin to blame one another for killing Norton, and become more suspicious of each other when David calls and informs them that Warren is missing.
Reaching Niagara Falls, they get married at the Honeymoon Sweets 24-hour wedding chapel, then spend the night at the adjoining motel. During the night, he phones David about his suspicions of Jade being the killer. David suggests that he go to the police, before someone else gets hurt. In the morning, they discover the couple in the room across from them was murdered. Quickly grabbing their belongings, they run back into the van and prepare to drive away. Before they do, they continue to blame one another for the multiple murders, just as David arrives. As they drive, David manages to calm them down by explaining his reasons that neither of them could be killers. Just as the couple begin to see he's right and reconcile, David discovers Warren's dead body. Grabbing Warren's gun, David orders Jesse to pull over. As David tries to get the attention of a police car passing by, Chucky and Tiffany finally reveal themselves and hold everyone at gunpoint. David, unknowingly, backs too far off the road and is hit by a truck.
Now being held hostage, Chucky and Tiffany reveal their plan to use Jesse and Jade as their new bodies. To keep the police of their trail, they force the couple into a stolen RV as they make their way to New Jersey. Jesse then secretly gets Jade into a plan to turn the two dolls on one another, pointing out each other's flaws. As Tiffany and Chucky argue, Jade kicks Tiffany into the oven and Jesse pushes Chucky out of the window as he shoots at him, causing the RV to run off the road and into a ditch.
Jade, tied to a chair, is attacked by the burnt Tiffany. Jesse unties her and manages to get her out of the RV. He jumps out as the vehicle explodes behind him, but loses track of Jade. Instead, he is able to hold Tiffany hostage with her gun, and brings her with him to the Forest Creek Cemetery. He trades hostages with Chucky, giving him Tiffany in return for Jade. While Jesse and Jade embrace, Chucky throws his knife at Jade, but Jesse turns her around and is stabbed in the back. They are then tied up for the ritual. While Chucky begins the chant, Tiffany has second thoughts. The two dolls fight, and while Chucky is preoccupied with killing Tiffany, Jade is able to break free of her ropes and unties her husband. Jesse knocks Chucky into his grave with a shovel as Lieutenant Preston arrives at the scene, ordering them to drop their weapons. As the detective comes up to them and sees Chucky, she grabs his gun and shoots Chucky, finally killing him. Lt. Preston then calls his superiors, clearing Jesse and Jade of the murders and sending them on their way.
