- "That's Mickey Rooney. He's a total dick so... don't touch him."
- ―Andy about Mickey Rooney.
Mickey Rooney is the pet cat owned by the Barclay family.
Child's Play (2019)[]
After Karen comes home from work, her and Andy argue over him not unpacking boxes and not feeding the cat. The next night after Karen gives Andy a Buddi doll for an early birthday present, Andy introduces Chucky to the cat. While introducing him, Andy calls Rooney a "total dick" which Chucky then repeats.
Later, while Chucky and Andy are playing a boardgame, Andy drops one of the game pieces near the cat. When Andy tries to pick it up, Rooney violently scratches him. Andy goes to the bathroom to get a bandage, but returns to find Chucky strangling the cat. Separating the two, Rooney runs out of the room as Andy explains to Chucky that he cannot hurt people. Just then, Shane walks in the room and scolds Andy for freaking out the cat.
Death[]
Some days later. Andy comes home from school and enters the kitchen to discover blood on the floor. He follows the blood trail to find Chucky with a knife, having slit the cat's throat. Andy becomes extremely upset at Chucky about what he did to to the cat, but Chucky reasons that it made him unhappy by repeating Andy saying, "I'm so sick of this cat". Packing the cat's corpse into a box, he dumps it down the garbage chute and lies to his mother that Shane left the door open and let the cat out. That night, Andy wakes up to hear Chucky playing the audio of him strangling the cat.
