- "Don't you see it? Don't you see him? Our Lord's image plain as day right in this doll's face."
- ―Sister Ruth upon seeing Chucky.
Sister Ruth is the abbess at the School of the Incarnate Lord, a Catholic reformatory school. She acts under the headmaster of the school, Father Bryce.
Chucky: Season 2 (2022)[]
When Jake, Devon and Lexy arrive at the school, Sister Ruth greets them with stern words, and promises to weed out their negative behaviour and turn them into upstanding, god-fearing citizens. After the three are shown to their rooms, she and Sister Elizabeth open a package sent to the school which they believe to be a donation for their Christmas toy drive. Upon opening it, they find a Good Guy doll. Ruth immediately makes the sign of the cross, claiming to see the Lord's image in the doll's face.
A few days later, Sister Ruth catches Lexy sneaking into the school infirmary and trying to break into the medicine cabinet. When asked what she is doing, Lexy claims that she has a headache and just needed an Aspirin. Sister Ruth obliges, but removes Lexy from the infirmary after giving her the Aspirin. Later that day, Sister Ruth does her routine room inspection in the girls' dormitory and comes to Nadine and Lexy's room. Upon entering, she asks how Lexy's headache is doing and quickly searches the room. Nadine pesters her with questions about health class, so she cuts the inspection short and leaves.
Some time later, she is called into Father Bryce's office along with Sister Catherine and Dr. Mixter about his concerns for Devon, showing them the crucified Good Guy doll on the wall. He orders her to get rid of the doll, so she dumps it in a garbage can in her office. In the evening while she works, the garbage can begins to shake and falls over. The Chucky doll inside climbs out, exclaiming that "He has risen". Believing him to be the resurrected Jesus Christ, she falls to her knees and asks to serve him.
Sister Ruth takes to serving Buff Chucky, and questions why he killed Father O'Malley. When he remarks that it was to get a quick workout for his muscles, she smiles. He also notices her red hair poking out of her veil, and comments that she should be a blonde. As he relaxes, she removes his shoes and washes his feet, commending that anything he wishes she shall do for him. Later in the evening, Sister Ruth takes Buff Chucky to Father Bryce's office, in an attempt to show him the "miracle" of the risen Jesus Christ. However, the doll does not come alive. Father Bryce chastises her for not getting rid of the doll like he asked, and becomes concerned after she insists the doll is their Lord and Savior. He sits down with her, and asks her to pray with him so that this "fever" that has overtaken her shall pass. He then reminds her that the school is on lockdown, and orders her to stay in her room for her heresy. Offended, she retorts that her feelings will not be dismissed and leaves with the doll.
Death[]
When she notices Buff Chucky is missing during the night, she leaves her room and discovers him dead in the study hall. Weeping over her saviour's corpse, she kisses his feet and promises that she will avenge him. She is then met by Dr. Mixter, and explains her plan to "resurrect" Chucky by separating the Chucky inside Nica from her and back into a new doll body. To ensure her plan goes smoothly, she arms Sister Ruth with a gun and instructs her to bring in a hostage after the soul transfer is successful.
Sister Ruth finds Lexy in her room, and takes her by gunpoint to the chapel. She decrees that she will spare Lexy's life as long as Dr. Mixter is allowed to take Chucky and leave with him. However, after Dr. Mixter leaves she does not let Lexy go, instead forcing her to her knees and preparing to sacrifice her in God's name. Thinking quickly, Glenda throws a knife straight into her eye. Sister Ruth pulls the knife out, and looks at the eye stuck on the end of the blade before collapsing and dying.
