The Sinners Are Much More Fun is the second episode in the second season of Chucky.

Synopsis[]

Chucky arrives at Incarnate Lord, filled with a murderous agenda; a detective questions Tiffany about Nica's disturbing death.

Plot[]

Tiffany wakes up screaming in Jennifer Tilly's Beverly Hills mansion next to the bloody severed head of one of her doll forms. Shortly thereafter, she feeds Nica Pierce, whom she has held captive, mutilated with all her limbs amputated, and dressed like a doll for the past year. Tiffany and Nica have a one-sided argument, with Nica venting all her frustration and wroth at having her arms and legs chopped off, while Tiffany plays coy and ignores Nica's resentment, infantilizing her. Tiffany slices open her palm and raises her hand an inch from Nica's face, the sight of the blood forcing Chucky's soul to the front. Tiffany screams at Chucky, dangling the severed doll's head. Chucky can't contain his glee. He tells Tiffany that she will never be safe, that Nica's quadruple-amputation is nothing, and that he will eventually kill her, and the Three Amigos.

At the School of the Incarnate Lord, Father Bryce delivers a homily against sex and drugs, the idea of free will as it relates to sin, and the point of confession bringing oneself closer to Christ. During a lull in the mass before the eucharist, the trio meets Nadine, who asks if they are Catholic. Jake responds in the negative, and they discuss the rules around accepting communion. Lexy points out Trevor, an altar boy whom she had known briefly in elementary school, sent to Incarnate Lord in the 6th grade for bullying.

After the mass, the trio meet with Father Bryce. Sister Ruth collects their phones and another nun, Sister Elizabeth, gives out their uniforms. He leads the two boys off to their quarters while another nun shows Lexy to hers. She enters the room, and discovers Nadine. Nadine compliments Lexy on her looks. Lexy remains standoffish, unwilling to let anyone else in after the events of the preceding year. Though Lexy is curious as to why Nadine is in Incarnate Lord, Nadine will only tell if Lexy tells. Alone with Devon in the boys' dormitory, Jake breaks down, the weight of what happened with Gary finally sinking in. Outside the next class, Lexy and Nadine mock Trevor in the halls. Trevor tries to mollify her, but Lexy thinks it's a plot since he is acting in a way wholly unlike what she remembers. In class, Sister Catherine discusses a work by Hieronymus Bosch which depicts the Seven Cardinal Vices. She praises Jake for answering a question correctly, and when Nadine asks why one should worry about sin if one can simply go to confession right before death and be forgiven of everything and go to Heaven, the nun answers that sin is more complicated than that. Meanwhile, in her quarters, Sister Elizabeth goes over some papers. Chucky falls off the table and the nun sets him aright. After she turns her back, Chucky falls again. She ignores it this time. Chucky suddenly appears in front of her, she screams, falling back in her chair. She goes into cardiac arrest, and Chucky quips over her body as she dies.

After class, Sister Elizabeth's body is discovered. The trio stand together staring into the open doorway, where Chucky sits lifeless and slumped over on Sister Elizabeth's desk. During a brief moment where everyone's back is turned, Chucky comes to life to flip the bird at the three of them, before returning to lifelessness. Father Bryce shuts the door and encourages students to keep Sister Elizabeth in their prayers. Lexy, Jake, and Devon contemplate what to do. Jake blames himself for buying Chucky in the first place and, refusing to let anyone else die, least of all his friends, resolves to confront Chucky. He is stopped by Father Bryce, who directs them all to Study Hall.

Meanwhile, In Jennifer Tilly's home, Tiffany and Nica watch Liar Liar. Nica asks Tiffany when she last took an acting job since she needs money to pay the property taxes on the house, having spent all of Jennifer Tilly's 100 million dollar divorce settlement from Simpsons co-creator Sam Simon. Tiffany refuses, saying that Nica would try to escape, to which Nica angrily demands to know how she can possibly escape since she has no arms and legs. Suddenly, the doorbell rings and though Nica shrieks for her life, Tiffany quickly gags her. At the door is a Detective Gavin investigating the disappearance of Nica Pierce. Tiffany awkwardly tries to hide her involvement, and shuts the door in the detective's face.

At the Catholic School, Jake asks to use the restroom, which Father Bryce obliges, but not before correcting Jake's grammar and lack of addressing him as Father. Jake grabs a plastic knife from the dining hall, jimmies the lock into Sister Elizabeth's quarters and calls Chucky a "fucking asshole". Just as he's about to stab him, Father Bryce appears behind him, chastises Jake for his language, and brings Jake to his chambers. Father Bryce hands Jake a Bible and instructs him to find a passage that speaks to him. He leaves, locking Jake in the room with Chucky. When Father Bryce returns to class, Devon asks him where Jake is, but Father Bryce refuses to play ball. While that happens, Jake tries to get Chucky to talk to him, but Chucky keeps his lips sealed. When Jake smacks the doll off of its perch, Chucky snaps a photo of Jake before shimmying up the clock tower. The trio later reunite and decide to find and kill Chucky.

Back in her room, Lexy examines her doorknob, annoyed that it only locks from the outside. She opens a dresser, and discovers that Nadine was sent to the reformatory for larceny. The two then barricade the door against Chucky. Later that night, while Lexy is occupied with crushing and snorting a line of Clonazepam, Chucky comes to life beneath Nadine's bed. He takes a photo of Lexy. He struggles to move the dresser in front of the door, and grunts loudly, alerting Lexy and Nadine, who both scream. Chucky screams as well, before sneaking into the hallway. Students and Sister Ruth spill into the corridor and head directly for Lexy's room. Lexy tries to calm Nadine who thinks it's her fault the doll came to life, as God is punishing her for her kleptomania. Lexy urges her to say nothing. When Father Bryce and Sister Ruth enter the room, Lexy tells a quick lie containing a code, "bathroom", and Jake and Devon sneak off. Sister Ruth admonishes Lexy for screaming about something so minor, but Father Bryce is more empathetic.

In the bathroom, Jake and Devon search everywhere but find no sign of Chucky. Just then, he appears from behind and tackles Jake to the floor, he draws a knife, but is kicked into the shower by Devon. Jake clambers to his feet and grabs the phone from the shower and examines the pictures while Devon interrogates Chucky to little success. Just when he's about to stab him, Jake stays his hand—he knows what Chucky is up to. In the morning, Nadine asks Lexy questions about Chucky. When Lexy meets up with Jake and Devon, the two lead the girls to Chucky, whom they have bound and gagged. Jake tells everyone that this Chucky is a scout and they intend to find out for whom.

Meanwhile, Tiffany pulls a birthday cake for Glen and Glenda from the oven as the doorbell rings. She quickly hides and gags Nica, but discovers that it's Detective Sam Gavin at the door, not Glen and Glenda. In the other room, the souls of Nica and Chucky communicate: the two are working together to kill Tiffany and get individual bodies. Detective Sam Gavin pointedly accuses Tiffany of harboring a fugitive. Tiffany denies the accusation: while she is keeping Nica, she is not a fugitive and innocent of the murders at the hospital. She lets the officer into the home and immediately kills him, saying that "Values are for losers". She cackles, but just then the gate alarm chimes, and she frantically hides the body and blood as Glen and Glenda arrive.
