There Will Be Blood is the seventh episode in the third season of Chucky.
Synopsis[]
Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany plans her escape.
Plot[]
Trapped inside the Spirit Realm, the ghost of Charles Lee Ray finally meets Damballa, who has taken the form of Chucky. Damballa informs him that his sacrifices were ignored as he "cheated on him with other gods", and after reading through the murders he committed, believes they were lacking passion and originality. Before Damballa sends him to Hell, Charles begs for one more chance. He agrees, challenging him to kill as a ghost and harness the blood he spilt in the White House.
Following the accidental detonation of a nuclear missile in the North Pole, the White House is cleared out and is operating on a skeleton crew. Spence gives a speech to the public with the instructions of Pryce, claiming it was the cause of a power outage during a routine exercise with NORAD. Melanie and Pryce have been furthuring rumours that James Collins is gravely ill, allowing for his explained death and for Spence to officially take over as president the next day.
Charlotte and Randall talk in his bedroom, where he reassures her that her family is strong and will get through her husband's death. Pryce enters the room, explaining to them that what they saw last night was the manifestation of Charles Lee Ray. He then discloses his plans to have Randall tape an announcement with the Collins family, explaining that James had been diagnosed with brain cancer and he is transferring the presidency to Spence. Charlotte is vehemently against this as Joseph died of cancer, but Pryce believes it will help the situation be realistic for the public.
Pryce has Grant locked in his room along with Jake, Devon and Lexy. Their phones were confiscated, including Devon's video recording of Chucky. Lexy comforts Grant over the death of his father, but they are interrupted by Hicks and another Secret Service agent. They ask for Grant to come with them to his parent's room, where Charlotte and Henry are waiting. While Charlotte talks with Grant about his father's death, Henry has a vision of Charles' ghost. Just then, Coop and Hicks arrive to help Charlotte escape with her boys. While Charlotte and Henry are in their getaway car, Grant refuses to leave as his friends are still trapped by Pryce's agent. As Charlotte is driven away, Grant and Hicks walk back into the White House and rescue Jake, Devon and Lexy. They are found by Pryce, who requests their help.
Dr. Carol Lindstrom and her associate Timmy Nash arrive at the White House to aid Pryce in cleaning the building of its evil spirits. Inside Joseph's bedroom, Timmy is able to ascertain that James was murdered by something not human, and has a vision of Chucky. Pryce brings Hicks, Grant, Jake, Devon and Lexy to the Oval Office where Carol and Timmy have set up their equipment. Using an EVP device, they are able to pick up on James' voice repeating "so much blood". Carol reveals to them that the souls of those who died in the White House are still here, including that of Chucky. She believes that the White House was already haunted, but the recent murders caused it erupt with supernatural energy. In order to persuade Charles' ghost to move on and find peace, they must have a séance.
Without the Collins family by his side, Randall is forced to record James' farewell video by himself. When he's finished, Pryce reveals that he never intended for Randall to leave the White House alive and he is going to be die by lethal injection. Randall makes a run for the elevator, but CIA agent Frick is right behind him with the needle. The two men fight in the elevator, but both drown when it floods with blood.
During the evening, they move forward with the séance with everyone that is still alive. Using Timmy as a conduit, they successfully make contact with Charles. He tells them that he remains because he has unfinished business, that being Devon, Jake and Lexy. Carol tries getting in touch with the good in Charles, but he retorts that his only regret is that he couldn't mentor Caroline. Using his ghostly powers, Charles takes out all of the lights and causes blood to rain down from the fire sprinklers. They finally break the séance circle when Charles lifts the listening device into the air, throwing it down to the bloody ground and electrocuting Carol, Spence, and Melanie. Once the chaos is over, Jake sees Charles' ghost giving him the middle finger.
As they are out of options, Timmy announces they take must Chucky by surprise in the Spirit Realm, but they can only do this by dying. Jake volunteers to do it, by flatlining to cross over to the other side, and then being brought back to life when he can find out where Caroline is being held. Devon and Lexy are both against Jake being the one to die but Timmy discloses that it must be the person with the strongest connection, which Jake had with Good Chucky. Timmy also tells him that souls cannot die unless they self-terminate, meaning Jake has to convince Good Chucky to sacrifice himself in the Spirit Realm. Using a drug provided by Pryce, Jake is temporarily put under cardiac arrest, but he only has five minutes before they must revive him.
In Texas, Tiffany is still missing one item for the final voodoo doll. The sniper guarding the front entrance is still not under her control, and her execution is happening tonight. She tasks Erica to get her something from the sniper, so she follows him home as he leaves the prison. However, as she starts walking across the street to his house, she is hit by a car and dies.
Without Erica, Tiffany is unable to stop her impending execution. She is restrained and prepped for her lethal injection, and is surprised to see Nica attending. From a promise with GG, Nica passes on their message that they think she's a wonderful mother and always tried to protect them from those who were cruel to the fact that they were different. Nica also informs her that she knows the truth about Tiffany and that she will burn in Hell. Before the execution begins, Tiffany's last words are "Goodbye GG. Goodbye Chucky. I love you so, so much".
