- "I can't imagine why."
- ―Walter after Maggie mentions babysitting Andy would be the hottest date she's had in months.
Walter Criswell is the manager of the Carson Pirie Scott & Co. department store, where Maggie and Karen work.
Child's Play (1988)[]
While Karen is on her shift in the jewellery department, Maggie convinces her to leave her post to buy a Good Guy doll from a peddler in the alley outside. Criswell scolds Karen when she returns, remarking that they have specified break times for activities such as that.
He then informs Karen that another employee has called in sick, and since they are short-staffed she will have to take her shift. Maggie offers to take the shift for Karen, but he reminds Maggie that she works in the shoe department, not the jewellery department. Karen tries to get out of it, mentioning that she has to pick up her son at the daycare centre and that it's his birthday. Criswell threatens to reprimand her if she does not take the shift, although he allows her to leave for two hours to get her son.
